The other day I payed a visit to Big Rumen Farm owned by Bill Dix and Stacy Hall. Bill and Stacy lease a large portion of their farm, including the swing 12 milking parlor thats on the farm, to Bill and Maria Krusling. Bill and Maria run their milking cows on the large portions of pasture they rent from Bill and Stacy and use the milking parlor to milk their fresh herd, Bill and Maria are one of our milk producers who produce local, grass-grazed milk for Snowville Creamery. Bill and Stacy raise all of their own young stock on a small portion of Big Rumen. The calves in these pictures are some of Bill and Stacy's future milk cows.
"Oh what, I'm not doing anything!"
Snow was very protective of these calves, she stood right by the door the whole time checking in on me, making sure her calves were safe.
It's hard to say who's happier when the cows finally get to get out on grass, the cows that get to eat it, or the farmer that doesn't have to feed them hay anymore.
Found these two little guys in the pasture next to the milking herd.
Big Rumen Farm, a place of beauty.
I stumbled upon a random cluster of daffodils on my way home, of course I had to stop and take pictures!
