Snowville Creamery Plain Yogurt

Snowville Creamery’s 6% butterfat plain yogurt is made with grazed, fat free milk that is cold concentrated by a micro filtration system which removes water but keeps all the milk’s goodness. Rich cream gives it a naturally smooth and pleasing texture that couples with the high protein concentrated milk to give our yogurt a wonderfully thick body while still retaining the full complement of both whey and casein proteins present in cow’s milk. The natural fermentation processes that our ten live and active cultures perform in the yogurt give it a delicious, tart “green apple” flavor that yogurt was traditionally known and loved, unlike many modern yogurts which taste like flavorless custard.

This is real American yogurt!

Dock Expansion

The dock area at Snowville Creamery is probably the busiest place in the entire creamery. Those of you who have visited for a formal tour will recognize this as the place where we start the Creamery tour, after we have shown people the cows and grass.

Milk tanker trucks, our refrigerated delivery trucks, big refrigerated semi trucks which take our milk by the pallet load, and delivery trucks bringing sugar, cocoa powder, and milk cartons all compete for a spot at the dock.

As you can see our dock is “all tore up” as we say in the country. In August, we were able to get a larger 5,200 gallon milk tanker truck but it just didn’t fit within the enclosed milk unloading room we have. Now we are scrambling to get our milk unloading area enclosed in time for winter!

There’s never a dull day at Snowville Creamery.
