Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Where are you located?
Snowville Creamery is located on Bill Dix and Stacy Hall's dairy farm in the Appalachian foothills of Ohio.
Our address is 32623 State Rt. 143, Pomeroy, OH 45769. Note: We do welcome visitors but recommend
that you call for directions rather than use MapQuest--many visitors have gotten lost in the countryside!
Why choose Snowville Creamery milk?
Snowville Creamery milk is packaged and distributed within 48 hours of milking for the freshest milk
possible. The Snowville Creamery milk you are drinking could have been in the cow yesterday!

What is the lifestyle of the cows producing Snowville Creamery?
We only source milk from our neighboring dairy farmers who use sustainable pasture-grazing methods.
Our partnering dairy farms include Bill Dix and Stacy Hall, the Hamm Valley Farm, and Emerald Farms.

Bill and Stacy are renown for their outstanding dairy and sustainable farming methods. In 2003
they won the Meigs Country Conservation Farmers of the Year award. Their 220 cows on the "Brick"
dairy farm graze on 280 acres of pasture surrounding the Snowville Creamery milk plant. The cow
parade travels past Snowville Creamery milk plant twice a day on route to the milking barn.

How does a dairy cow's diet affect the milks nutrition?
Dairy cows eating primarily green grass will have a much greater amount of CLA and Omega-3
in the milk they produce than cows raised on grain. Conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) are isomers
that have powerful antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. A proper balance of Omega-6s to Omega-3s
allows the human body to function at its healthiest state. We often recommend the Milkweed CLA
and Omega-3 article by Paris Reidhead and the book Queen of Fats by Susan Allport for further
reading on the health benefits of CLA and Omega-3.
